Danielle attended William S. Hart High School in Newhall, CA where she was a 3-year varsity player and All-League selection in 1995. She was also a 3-year swimmer and won a CIF title in 1996.

Danielle attended Christian Heritage College from 1996 to 1999. She was named Rookie of the Year her freshman year and won the NCCAA National Championship. While winning the NCCAA title again in her senior year, she was named an NCCAA Academic All-American and was placed on the NCCAA All-Tournament Team.
