About Kim

Kim is the head coach of our Jump Start Program. Her degree in Recreation Administration from SDSU has given her a great foundation to work with our youngest athletes. While earning her degree at SDSU, Kim played for the Aztec women's volleyball team, was voted team MVP, and helped her team place 5th in the nation her senior year.

After her illustrious career at SDSU, Kim went on to play for the U.S. Junior National Team then professionally in Italy and here at home for the San Diego Spikers. Kim also played for 4 years on the Women's Professional Beach Volleyball Tour.  While representing the WPVA, Kim played in 2 international exhibition sand matches in Guatemala.  Also, she is a 3 time Champion of the Motherload Sand Volleyball tournament that is played in Aspen, Colorado.

Kim and her husband, Russ, director for Seaside VBC, share a beautiful family of five. They share 3 wonderful children, Bennett, Kolby, and Slater. Bennett played at BYU and is now a D.O. finishing his residency in Tulare, CA.  Kolby  graduated from playing volleyball at the University of Miami.  She completed her Masters degree in Leadership Studies at Vanguard University and is now a lead coach with FCA volleyball (fellowship of christian athletes).  Slater graduated from Westview High School and was named San Diego County CIF player of the year.  He attended Miramar college locally and is now finishing his economics degree at UCSB in Santa Barbara where his team won the club national volleyball championship.  We are so thankful to have Coach Kim as a part of our coaching family!
